Requirements:

Under the direction of the Director of Operations, is responsible to effectively plan, direct and coordinate all manufacturing and related service departments to achieve efficient and economical manufacturing to conform with established Division objectives and goals.  Provide healthy working environment to achieve plant and corporate goals while identifying cost reductions, strategies and opportunities to enhance the business’ competitive edge.

 Essential Job Functions:

·         Maintain close supervision over all plant operations through management reports, staff meetings and personal observations to assure coordination and integration of work flow, timely production, budgetary conformance, schedules, and proper utilization of personnel, equipment and facility.

 

·         Maintains close ties with Division and Corporate and other support functions to maximize free exchange of information and resources.

 

·         Establish and implement long-range and short-term plans, operating policies, etc, which complement Plant-wide goals, plans and objectives.

 

·         Assist, advice and otherwise expedite manufacturing and related problems by utilizing staff personnel to resolve and implement corrective procedures.

 

·         Coordinate and direct major projects as required.

 

·         Act as liaison and facilitator between Corporate management, Divisions support services and other Manufacturing Operations.

 

·         Plan and determine manpower requirements based on forecast and administer such program in conjunction with Division Management.

 

·         Assures Cost Savings projects are stimulated throughout the facility.

 

·         Reviews, approves and proposes building, machinery and equipment improvements as deemed necessary.

 

·         Assures adequate coordination between the Plant’s Departments is being followed to achieve Company goals.

 

Qualifications:

·         Proven track record of implementing change, driving cost improvements and increasing efficiencies

·         Experience transferring complex medical devices from development or acquisition into standard plant  environment

·         Experience working on product research and development, either improving current textile based products or creating new products.

·         Experience transferring textile based products from development or acquisition into standard plant environment.  

·         Prior experience in a Six Sigma or Lean manufacturing environment.

·         Principles of Supervision

·         Knowledge of Textiles is a MUST

·         Fully bilingual – able to communicate orally and in writing in both English and Spanish is a big plus.

·         People skills

 

Education and/or Experience: 

  • Undergraduate degree in Textile Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Industrial Management or Business Administration

  

  • Minimum of ten (10) years experience required in preparatory, supervisory and managerial positions in a manufacturing environment to acquire background efficient economical manufacturing and to achieve overall production goals.

 

  • Knowledge of CGMP's, OSHA, Environmental Programs, and  ISO 9000
