Description:

Our client, a private contract manufacturer with over 50 years in metal fabrication and based in Southern California seeks a Corporate Controller to be based at their Tijuana, Mexico manufacturing site with a 150,000 sq. ft. and oversee both the Mexico manufacturing operation and their U.S. legal entity.  Manufacturing processes and products include sheet metal fabrication (panels, enclosures, and cabinets), tubular fabrication, consumer products (lever handles, medicine cabinets, and can crushers), deep draw, and punch press and brake presses. Company is focused on growing organically and is on track to grow over 20% this year.

·         Responsible for overseeing general accounting, monthly close and financial reporting, both US and Mexico books.

·         In charge of budget elaboration and control, including financial analysis and taxes for both US and Mexico.

·         Participate in driving the selection and implementation of a new ERP system.

·         Oversee issues regarding legal compliance in Mexico and US as well as some customs import/export issues.

·         Improve integrity of information and improve the standard cost accounting system.

Qualifications:

·         Over 3 years of experience in a Controllership function in a manufacturing environment, including maquiladora operations.

·         Familiar with Mexico operations required and US business operations highly desirable.

·         Familiar with both Mexico and US business law highly preferred.

·         Strong background with financial reporting and consolidations.  Experienced with Mexico Accounting including taxes and US GAAP accounting.

·         Experience with budgeting and financial analysis.

·         Familiar with basic treasury functions.

·         Fluent in English and Spanish.

·         Bachelor degree in accounting or finance or similar.

·         Standard Cost Accounting experience.

·         Customs knowledge.

·         Previous experience with ERP implementation a plus.
