Summary:
The scope of the Plant Manager position involves communicating with customers on a daily basis, hiring, training, planning, scheduling, organizing and overall direction of day to day activities relating to production and equipment on all shifts. Reports to General Manager
Essential Job Functions (Duties & Responsibilities):
· Directs activities of production, shipping, customer service, process engineering, sets priorities for day to day equipment maintenance, and maintains appropriate production staffing as needed to meet company goals.
· Responsible for shop production schedules and conducts production meetings including supervisors’ meetings.
· Ensures customers’ needs are appropriately met by shipping to schedule with minimum turnaround time and a high degree of quality, working closely with the Quality Manager.
· Directs maintenance activities in regard to shop equipment, instrumentation, facilities and personnel.
Requirements:
· Four year bachelor degree. Prefer degree in metallurgy, materials science, or other related field.
· Must have strong communication skills in both Spanish and English.
· Requires extensive knowledge of manufacturing operations management, production, inspection and customer service needs in a metal fabrication or metal working environment. Highly prefer heat treating, and/or metallurgy through technical and advanced training, seminars, college, B.S.M.E. (metallurgy) and/or equivalent work experience. Knowledge of low pressure carburizing, atmosphere, and shot peening a plus.
· Prefer a minimum five years of practical experience in the heat treatment of steel with knowledge of carburizing and aerospace alloys.
· Automotive manufacturing experience is required.
· Must have the ability to manage multi-level employees and functions with a minimum of five years of experience in a supervisory role.
· Must be knowledgeable in customer needs, material handling procedures, and quality control.
· Must possess knowledge and have experience in industrial safety programs.
· Knowledge of Mexico federal health and safety regulations is a plus.
· Ability to comply with company rules and compliance to Mexico Federal labor laws relating to employment, discipline, etc.
