Product Engineer – Chinese Mandarin Required

This global leader, with nearly $14 billion USD in sales, is seeking a Product Engineer to join its growing plant in Mexicali, BC, Mexico. The selected candidate will play a key role in supporting production programs, implementing manufacturing processes, and ensuring the optimization of resources to deliver world-class solutions primarily for the datacom and telecommunications industries.

THE POSITION

Under the supervision of the Quality Manager, the Product Engineer is responsible for addressing production program requirements, implementing manufacturing methods and processes, defining production standards, labor requirements, production flow design, plant layout, and the use of equipment, tools, and materials, while optimizing available resources.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Validate products against design specifications.
2. Approve process deviations.
3. Validate new products.
4. Perform data analysis using software tools (charts, pivot tables, and data reports).
5. Develop problem-solving methodologies: cause and effect, Ishikawa diagrams, data sheet verification, control charts, histograms, Pareto diagrams, scatter plots, and flow management charts.
6. Support new product introduction: upload bill of materials into the system, traveler/route sheet creation, tooling design, material handling layout (in-transit, receiving, warehouse, WIP, finished goods in-transit, and customer warehouse), and participate in electromechanical assembly processes.

THE CANDIDATE

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Robotics, or Industrial Engineering.

Experience and Knowledge:

1. Minimum of 3 years of experience in the manufacturing industry.
2. Strong oral and written communication skills in English.
3. Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
4. Experience in tool design.
5. Experience in programming automated equipment.
6. Knowledge of AutoCAD.
7. Project management experience.
8. Strong problem-solving skills.
9. Strong oral and written communication skills in Chinese Mandarin.
