We have been retained to by a global leader in high speed and high-density connection systems who solves system design challenges with integrated interconnect solutions for application in networking, communications, data storage, and computer server markets. This global leader currently seeks a Project Manager for the Commercial Products Group to lead projects in Mexicali, BC, Mexico to manufacture High Speed Cable Products for consumer, e-vehicle, energy storage and IT data. This will be a semi-automated plant with wire preparation, assembly, and electrical testing.
THE POSITION
The Project Manager will report to the Plant Manager and will be responsible for collaborating with the leadership team to manage new projects related to equipment, product implementation adhered to stakeholders’ requirements. This role will:
- Assign and monitor resources to ensure project efficiency and maximize deliverables
- Report project outcomes and/or risks to the appropriate management channels and escalate issues, as necessary, according to project work plan
- Lead projects from requirements definition through deployment, identifying schedules, scopes, budget estimations, and implementation plans, including risk mitigation
- Develop the project team to ensure maximum performance, by providing purpose, direction, and motivation
- Establish and maintain relationships with relevant client stakeholders, providing day-to-day contact on project status and changes
- Develop and maintain partnerships with third-party resources, including vendors and researchers
- Will communicate with clients directly to support their questions about deliverables throughout the process.
THE CANDIDATE
The ideal candidate will have the following skills:
- MUST have previous experience in automotive manufacturing environments.
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or related field.
- Proven project management experience (3-4 years preferred). Knowledge of equipment and product implementation (launch).
- Strong knowledge of project management methodologies and tools, including proficiency in Microsoft Project.
- Solid communication skills in English and Spanish and experience working with international engineering and marketing departments.
