Test Engineer – Chinese Mandarin Required

This global leader, with nearly $14 billion USD in sales, is seeking a Test Engineer to join its growing plant in Mexicali, BC, Mexico. The selected candidate will be responsible for analyzing and executing testing processes, ensuring compliance with quality standards, and collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to deliver world-class solutions primarily for the datacom and telecommunications industries.

THE POSITION

Under the supervision of the Quality Manager, the Test Engineer is responsible for supporting production programs through the implementation of testing methods and processes, defining quality and production standards, and optimizing resources by effectively using equipment, tools, and materials. This role plays a critical part in validating software and hardware performance, ensuring compliance with requirements, and documenting results for continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Review and analyze project requirements to understand functional and technical needs.
2. Estimate testing time and costs according to project requirements.
3. Plan test activities, including identification of test cases, definition of test objectives, and scheduling.
4. Design test cases, including input data, execution steps, and expected results.
5. Execute test cases, document results, and report identified issues for correction.
6. Document testing activities and evidence using ALM/Jira tools.
7. Analyze test results to determine compliance with functional requirements, working with development teams to resolve issues.
8. Validate corrective actions to ensure issues are resolved without impacting other functionalities.
9. Provide weekly progress reports to the project team during the testing phase.

THE CANDIDATE

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Robotics, Industrial, or related Engineering field.

Experience and Knowledge:

1. Minimum of 3 years of experience in the manufacturing industry.
2. Previous experience as a Test Engineer or in a similar role.
3. Familiarity with various testing techniques.
4. Hands-on experience with Quality Management Systems (QMS).
5. Knowledge of quality standards and regulations.
6. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and AutoCAD.
7. Experience in tool design and programming of automated equipment.
8. Project management experience.
9. Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills.
10. Strong oral and written communication skills in Chinese Mandarin.
11. Strong oral and written communication skills in English.
