Our client is a fast growing  Organization that is currently seeking for a Controller to join their team in their Queretaro, Mexico facility. They are seeking a hands-on individual who is strong in building exceptional working relationships and work as a trusted partner with stakeholders collaboratively with the team. The ideal candidate will have proven experience as an accountant, preferably in a senior role in a manufacturing environment. This person will be a strong communicator and skilled financial analyst, who will make it their mission to streamline our budgeting, payroll, and financial reporting processes. This person will produce thorough financial-status reports for senior management to help improve our operational efficiency and aid in our continued growth. The ideal candidate will be equally comfortable managing the finance team and completing paperwork as required.


  • Provide comprehensive financial updates to senior management by evaluating, analyzing, and reporting appropriate data points
  • Guide financial decisions by applying company policies and procedures to current economic landscape
  • Develop, implement, and maintain financial controls and guidelines
  • Achieve budgeting goals with proper scheduling, analysis, and corrective action
  • Maximize efficiency through innovative process development
  • Help develop and support short and long-term operational strategies
  • Coordinate and prepare internal and external financial statements

Daily and Monthly Responsibilities

  • Manage, maintain and monitor all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems ensuring compliance with appropriate USGAAP/IFRS standards and regulatory requirements as well as the requirements of private contributions, loans, and government contracts
  • Maintain internal control safeguards for the receipt of revenue, costs and both team and organizational budgets and actual expenditures
  • In conjunction with the Director of Finance, establish financial and operating benchmarks, budgets, program monitoring, and reporting standards on a bi-weekly, monthly, and annual basis
  • Implement consistent accounting policies, practices, and procedures across all programs, upholding federal, state, and local legal standards by remaining knowledgeable about existing, new, and future legislation
  • Develop and enforce internal controls to maximize protection of company assets, policies, procedures, and workflow
  • Oversee and support the accounting team with dynamic leadership that creates an environment of trust and productivity
  • Coordinate the activities of external auditors
  • Manage the budget process
  • Other duties as assigned


  • Bachelor’s Degree in business, accounting, or related field, CPA highly preferred
  • 10+ years proven accounting experience with 5+ years as a senior level Accounting/Finance Manager
  • Fluently bilingual in English and Spanish
  • Professional accounting certification, including CMA, CGA, or CA
  • Working knowledge of finance law and regulatory standards (GAAP/IFRS)
  • Strong understanding of economic and banking processes
  • Strong working knowledge of detailed financial data analysis
  • Experience streamlining accounting processes
  • Experience with financial project management
  • Working knowledge of federal, state, and local tax compliance regulations and reporting
  • Strong supervisory skills and ability to deal with cultural differences as required
  • Knowledge of Customs preferred
  • Enjoys becoming a trusted partner of the plant team and head office
  • Must be a strong leader who has very good communication skills coupled with tact
