This Manufacturing facility plays a strategic role for their North American operations, combining world-class engineering with a strong, people-first culture. Our client is looking for an inspirational and action-oriented Plant Manager to run our Rio Bravo, Tamaulipas facility. This is not just an operational leadership role, it’s a chance to create a lasting culture of transparency, accountability, and continuous improvement. THE POSITION
You will be responsible for leading a team and for shaping a mid-size manufacturing plant’s success through strong financial stewardship and operational discipline. Your integrity, people-first mindset, and hands-on leadership style will be critical in transforming the plant culture and operational performance.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Leadership:
Oversee all aspects of plant operations, including production, safety, quality, maintenance, engineering, and supply chain activities.
Team & Culture Development:
Foster a high-performance, collaborative environment where team members are empowered, respected, and held accountable. Serve as a trusted mentor and developer of talent.
Strategic Decision-Making:
Exercise full decision-making authority for the site, aligning actions with corporate goals and driving autonomous, data-informed initiatives.
P&L Ownership:
Manage full Profit & Loss responsibility for the Rio Bravo, Tamaulipas facility. Lead cost optimization across both fixed and variable costs and ensure alignment with financial targets. Develop and lead yearly budget and annual plan. Part of the Mid-term strategic planning process.
Continuous Improvement:
Champion Lean culture by leading Kaizen events, standard work implementation, waste reduction projects, and driving measurable productivity improvements. Drive manufacturing 4.0.
Compliance & Risk Management:
Enforce robust internal controls, mitigate compliance risks, and ensure audit-readiness. Address and resolve issues such as theft prevention and regulatory non-compliance.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Work closely with leaders in Engineering, HR, Finance, and Supply Chain to support cross-site alignment and innovation.
THE CANDIDATE
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Engineering or a related field (Master’s a plus).
- 10+ years in manufacturing leadership roles, with at least 4 years at the Plant Manager level or similar
- Strong track record in P&L management, cost reductions, compliance leadership, and operational / cultural turnarounds.
- Extensive experience with implementation of Lean, Six Sigma, and other CI methodologies.
- Prior leadership experience in Maquiladora / IMMEX environments and understanding of import / export laws and regulatory compliance in Mexico.
- Fully bilingual in English and Spanish.
