General Manager

Our client is a well-established small privately held industrial manufacturing company with operations in Mexico and North America, with a focus on quality, operational excellence, and customer-driven manufacturing, the company designs and manufactures stainless steel tanks, pressure vessels, kettles, silos, mixers vessels, reactors and integrated process systems utilized in critical production lines throughout North and Central America. Their manufacturing operation combines advanced metal fabrication capabilities with a strong commitment to safety, continuous improvement, and on-time delivery. Serving sectors such as food and beverage, pharmaceuticals, chemicals, cosmetics, and dairy, the company has built a strong reputation for delivering custom-engineered solutions tailored to complex production environments.
 The plant is located in Tenango del Valle, Edo de Mexico., 25 minutes from Toluca, 15 minutes from Metepec and 45 minutes from Santa Fe (Mexico City).

THE POSITION
The plant in Tenango del Valle, Estado de Mexico is currently experiencing continued growth and is seeking a General Manager to lead, optimize and grow its production and fabrication operation. To continue operating at our high standards, we’re seeking a general manager who’s a born leader. This person should have experience in overseeing business operations, manufacturing and sales, as well as human resources, finance, supply chain and communications. The ideal candidate will be an expert communicator who has a strong ability to delegate responsibility and collaborate across a range of departments. Ultimately, the general manager should be driven by a desire to lead our business to maximum productivity and efficiency.

• Provide guidance and feedback to help others strengthen specific knowledge/skill areas

Responsibilities

• Oversee Day-to-Day manufacturing operations, assign weekly performance goals and ensure their completion, as well as accomplish company goals and project targets.
• Recruit, onboard, and train high-performing employees to achieve objectives for sales, profitability, and market share
• Maintain project timelines to ensure tasks are accomplished effectively
• Develop, implement, and maintain budgetary and resource allocation plans
• Delegate responsibilities to the best-qualified employees and enforce all policies, procedures, standards, specifications, guidelines, training programs, and cultural values.
• Resolve internal staff conflicts efficiently and to the mutual benefit of all involved

THE CANDIDATE
Required Qualifications and Skills

• Proven success in a managerial role, ideally as a General Manager, Director of Operations or similar in manufacturing environment.
• Experience in metal fabrication is preferred.   
• Strong decision-making ability
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and delegation skills
• Experience with P&L Management. Proven ability to develop and achieve financial plans
• Ability to motivate and lead employees, and hold them accountable
• Strong working knowledge of operational procedures.
• Experienced with client relations, preferably overseeing sales. Experience driving sales growth is preferred.
• Experience in conducting performance evaluations
• Adept at resolving conflict. 
• Blingual fluency in English (80%) and Spanish.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in business management or related field
• Working knowledge of human-resources processes and unions.
