They currently seek a Sr Trade Compliance Manager based in their state-of-the-art Manufacturing site in Tijuana, Mexico to lead its next growth phase, diversify supplier base and reduce costs.
THE POSITION
Role Overview
The Senior Trade Compliance Specialist will support manufacturing operations in Tijuana and partner closely with the Corporate Trade Compliance Team based in Los Angeles, California. The role covers USMCA/NAFTA, HTS classification, IMMEX, CTPAT, ISA, ACE, Reconciliation, and CARM, ensuring compliant and efficient cross border operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Support Corporate Trade Compliance programs, audits, and initiatives.
- Develop and maintain SOPs and compliance process documentation.
- Perform HTS classification for raw materials, components, and finished goods in the U.S. and Mexico.
- Conduct USMCA/NAFTA origin reviews and BOM based qualifications.
- Support IMMEX import and export compliance.
- Assist with CBP audits, SAT verifications, and internal reviews.
- Support Reconciliation filings including valuation, assists, and origin.
- Ensure compliance with CTPAT and ISA program requirements.
- Use ACE for entry oversight and reporting.
- Support Canadian import compliance through CARM.
- Collaborate with production, logistics, procurement, and engineering teams.
THE CANDIDATE
Required Qualifications
- Five or more years of U.S.–Mexico trade compliance experience in a manufacturing environment in Mexico.
- Strong knowledge of USMCA/NAFTA, HTS classification (Mexico), and customs valuation and import/export documentation.
- Prior maquiladora and IMMEX experience.
- Experience with ACE, CTPAT, ISA, Reconciliation, IMMEX, and CARM.
- Advance skills in Excel and ability to analyze data.
- Professional fluency in English and Spanish.
- Proven ability to write clear and well-structured SOPs
- ERP experience
- Strong analytical skills, detailed and good follow-up skills
- Ability to work independently.
- Bachelor degree highly preferred. prefer international trade, customs, business or similar.
Preferred Qualifications
- CCS certification.
- Experience with GTS, Descartes, or Integration Point.
- Strong knowledge of HTS Classification (US & Mexico).
- Experience with reports to CBP, cost submissions report and reconciliations.
