This global leader currently seeks a Plant Manager, reporting to the Senior Site Manager. The Plant Manager’s role is to provide leadership and management of a multi-function team in the areas of safety, quality, schedule and cost performance over the complete operations. The Plant Manager is accountable for meeting and improving the business P&L. Driving a culture of continuous improvement in all facets of the operation is necessary for success.
THE POSITION
Job Summary
The Plant Manager’s role is to provide leadership and management of a multi-function team in the areas of safety, quality, service, and cost performance over the complete operations. The Plant Manager is accountable for meeting and improving the business P&L and driving exponential growth of potentially over 300%. The Plant Manager will also develop a culture of continuous improvement in all facets of the operation is necessary for success.
Responsibilities
- Prior P&L management experience including monthly / quarterly forecasts
- Increases efficiencies and synergies in efforts to reduce Operating expenses.
- Manage Manufacturing, Shipping, Engineering / QC and Supply Chain Teams.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings, efficiencies, synergies:
- Analyze current Engineering projects and prioritize
- Evaluate and realign an Engineering Team to support the company’s strategic initiatives
- Work within the New Product Development process
- Evaluate cost down opportunities – evaluate supplier alternatives including opportunities to manufacture within region to reduce tariff and freight exposure
- Contribute operations information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews; prepare and complete action plans; implement production, productivity, quality and customer-service standards; resolve problems; complete audits; identify trends
- Forecast requirements; prepare an annual operating expense budget; analyze variances; and initiate corrective actions if necessary
- Manage staff levels, wages, hours, contract labor to OPEX budget
- Manage relationships with key Supply chain / operations vendors
- Work closely with the Supply Chain team to perform analysis of our inventory and ensure we are utilizing our inventory effectively, purchasing the right equipment, maintaining solid inventory data in an effort to reduce excess and obsolete inventory
THE CANDIDATE
Candidate Requirements
- Previous solid experience as a Plant Manager in a large site.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex P&L’s with multiple facets. Client relationship experience preferred.
- Proven experience in operations management within a manufacturing environment.
- Mid/High product mix volume manufacturing.
- Strong skills in continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma).
- Demonstrated ability to manage cross-functional teams effectively.
- Experience in project management with a track record of successful implementation.
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop staff at all levels.
- Strategic planning capabilities with a focus on long-term business growth.
- Strong negotiation skills for effective supplier and vendor management.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Business Administration, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Fluent in English and Spanish.
