THE POSITION

Job description:
Reporting to the Plant Manager , the Engineering  Manager Primary focus is to achieve  production and customer commit plans, while maintaining  manufacturing world class practices related to safety standards, process and product quality controls, customer requirements and on time delivery. The production manager is responsible for talent development, continuous improvement, and budget attainment  of the production  department.
Main responsibilities:

  • Responsible for Process Engineering in support of Operations and Production
  • Liaison  with corporate Engineering  to ensure Group strategic initiatives are deployed in our Plant in a timely and effective manner.
  • Ensures safety elements are deployed into manufacturing processes including JSA, Ergonomic Assessment, Equipment Risk Assessment.
  • Manufacturing documents deployment and controls, such as work instructions, process deviations
  • Coordinate and deploy engineering change management effectively.
  • Exercise diligent Management of Change on new process and equipment introduction (including layout and plant footprint changes due to manufacturing process needs)
  •  Liaison  with group engineering and quality departments on NPI’s ( receive process )
  • Determining and implementing world class quality control mindset and standards (Control Plan, FMEA, Error proofing)
  • Drives continuous   improvement on  FPY, RTY, Scrap  through lean methodologies ( Kaizen, root cause analysis ) and  management ( trend , pareto, actions )
  • Identify productivity opportunities on cycle time improvements, process balancing and equipment/resource utilization.
  • Identify and lead cost down projects related to manufacturing process and equipment reliability expenses.
  • Identify opportunities for new technology to drive process capability  as well as operational cost improvements.
  • Ensure engineering adherence on established operating system and standard work for process  enablers such as Tier meetings, RCCP, S&OP, Quality  Audits, Safety Gemba’s and Operational reviews, financial and cost reviews
  • CAPEX Management  in compliance with our finance standards
  • Provides leadership and talent development to junior staff including establishing objectives, setting goals, and managing accountability for attaining deliverables.
  • Partners with human resources area to manage IDL/DL workforce based on demand, training needs and improvements implemented.

THE CANDIDATE

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Minimum of 5 years of engineering manager experience
  • Relevant experience leading a Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing process
  • Strong project planning, communication skills, and resource management skills
  • Ability to work across the organization and various disciplines including Engineering, Operations, Program Office, and Business Development
  • Experience running multiple complex projects and integrated cross functional teams.
  • Conflict resolution and negotiating skills.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Collaborative leadership behaviors that emphasize high goal setting, team empowerment and providing support
  • Leadership experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Preferred experience in Electronic and Aerospace industry
