THE COMPANY

Our client is a major diversified global leader in manufacturing of engineering solutions with annual revenue of nearly $8 billion. Solutions and services are offered across five segments. Our client currently seeks a Human Resources Manager to partner with the Executive HR team in a facility located in Jeffersonville, IN.

THE POSITION

Will be responsible for ensuring positive employee relations by providing employees and managers with effective advice and guidance on issues surround daily human resources activities and employment conditions and benefits. This position will work closely with the HR team and local facility management, and report to the HR Director of Global Manufacturing.

Responsibilities:

  • HR Business Partner– employee relations, point of contact on day-to-day issues, pay rate changes for hourly employees, attendance policy administration, and CBA administration
  • Support payroll process through communication with team as necessary to ensure accurate payroll
  • Identify, create and foster opportunities to create a positive, dynamic culture where employees have an opportunity to contribute and grow professionally.
  • Partner with client group on local and facility initiatives including culture, communication and continuous improvement
  • Advise both local management and employees in HR related matters to ensure compliance with company policy and applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations
  • Support recruiting process for internal and external needs meeting quality and timeliness goals
  • Maintain current proficiency in various HR related skills and matters including compensation, benefits, employee relations trends and practices, legal requirements and regulations, and other knowledge necessary to support effective employee relations
  • Collaborate with HR team across Corporate and division executive management team.
  • Monitor key performance indicators, such as headcount, overtime, turnover, absenteeism, and other HR KPI’s as required
  • Perform benefits administration, including communicating benefits information to employees
  • Support Local, Region and Corporate HR policies and procedures
  • Perform other duties as assigned to ensure the success of the team and client group

  • Proficiency in use of MS Excel , Word, PowerPoint and other software tools to facilitate HR services delivery
  • Knowledge of federal, state and local labor and employment laws and regulations (i.e. NLRB, FLSA, FMLA, EEO, ADA).

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum bachelor’s degree in related field preferred (Human Resources, Business Administration)
  • 5-7 years HR work experience with emphasis in generalist responsibilities preferably in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of Union experience required
  • PHR/SPHR certification strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of federal, state and local labor and employment laws and regulations (i.e. NLRB, FLSA, FMLA, EEO, ADA).
