Process Engineer – Chinese Mandarin Required

We have been retained by a global leader in high-speed and high-density connection systems dedicated to delivering innovative products and services to customers worldwide. This global leader, with $14 billion USD in sales, is seeking a Process Engineer to join its growing plant in Mexicali, BC, Mexico.

THE POSITION

• The successful candidate for this position will establish process standards for several areas at their Mexicali, Mexico location.
• The Senior Process Engineer will work closely with the companies’ process development engineers to design and develop manufacturing processes which meet the customers’ requirements and parameters.
• Work closely with customers’ development and manufacturing engineers to collaborate on process development and translate the needs into process requirements. This includes a broad range of requirements from “platform equipment” development to custom fixture development for assembly and test.
• Will act as primary customer interface for ongoing factory quality reporting, elaborating on factory capabilities, improvement activities, and failure analysis work. This includes visiting the customer’s sites to understand and resolve assembly and applications issues as well as build relationships with the key engineering personnel.
• Oversees companies’ process engineering on the following activities – FMEA, control plans, process documentation, and operator training.
• The Senior Process Engineers’ primary office will be in Mexicali, Mexico.

THE CANDIDATE

• Bachelor Engineering Degree required. Mechanical or Electrical Engineering preferred. Master’s degree a plus.
• 5 or more years’ experience working as a Senior Process Engineer.
• Product and/or process development experience. CAD skills a plus.
• Willingness and desire to be hands-on in a manufacturing environment.
• Cable and harness assembly and/or interconnection systems experience highly preferred but must have electrical / electronics assembly background.
• Strong communication skills that build productive relationships with culturally different customers and suppliers are a key requirement. Some Program Management experience is a plus.
• Self-initiated engineer with an entrepreneurial attitude towards new process development.
• The ideal candidate will have experience working for a multi-national company
• Naturally meticulous with strong analytical skills for detailed data collection and analysis are necessary.
• Open minded, self-initiated engineer with an entrepreneurial attitude towards new process development.
• Fluent in Chinese, English, and Spanish
