Controller Mexico

THE POSITION

Our collaborative finance team is seeking an experienced Mexico Controller. This would be a full-time, on-site position located in Mexicali, Baja California, Mexico reporting to our Director of Operations Finance.

What You Wiil Do: The Mexico Controller supports Company’s success by assisting the finance and Plant Operations teams in accurately tracking and reporting on financial data, allowing the business to accurately track performance against targets and ultimately make data-driven decisions. The Mexico Controller will be directly responsible for Mexico Plants financial operations as well as supervise Trade Compliance, Tax, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Accounting teams and provide company legal representation.

How You Will Do It:

• Prepare monthly plant financial review package.
• Manufacturing variances analysis and explanation.
• Periodic expenses review with plant management and implement strategies to adjust according to forecasted volume variations. 
• Identify risks and opportunities.
• Prepare Mexico month end close journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations. 
• Review, validate and approve CAPEX, follow up and monitor committed payback.
• CIP follow up and capitalization.
• Fixed assets control.
• Review, validate, contribute, and approve continues improvement saving projects.
• Mexico Plants budget and forecast preparation.
• Prepare ad hoc reports and analysis for the business as required.
• Assist with operations scorecard maintenance.
• Monitor plant productivity, utilization, and reporting.
• Audit annual and cycle count inventories, approve results in accordance with DOA.
• Follow Company internal controls, identify gaps and raise concerns to direct supervisor or internal controls corporate office.
• Supervise all Mexico Finance teams and collaborate with other departments within the plant/organization for special projects.
• Supervise and provide support to Tax department, work as Tax strategist with internal team and Tax advisors.
• Supervise and provide support to Trade Compliance department.
• Supervise and provide guidance and support to AP and Accounting department.
• Team development and succession planning
• Others as needed.

THE CANDIDATE

We are seeking candidates who:

• Hold current authorization for employment in Mexico.
• Ability to travel several times a year to our location in Ojinaga, Chihuahua, Mexico
• Mexican passport and USA visitor visa required.
• Offer bachelor’s degree in accounting + several years work experience as Controller in multiple locations (required)
• Experience in Maquiladora as well as Mexico sales companies
• Familiarity with Oracle ERP (strongly preferred)
• Fluent in English
