Engineering Manager – Extrusion

THE COMPANY

We are representing a renowned global leader specializing in high-speed and high-density connection systems. Committed to providing innovative products and services to clients worldwide, this industry giant boasts annual sales nearing $11 billion USD. Currently, they are in search of an Engineering Manager with expertise in Extrusion to join their operations in Mexicali, BC, Mexico. The focus will be on manufacturing High-Speed Cable Products, with a primary focus on e-vehicles, energy storage, and consumer goods.

THE POSITION

Reporting to the Technology Manager, the Engineering Manager will be responsible for overseeing the development and execution of projects, managing budgets, and supervising multiple teams within the business unit.
The Engineering Manager will collaborate with other management personnel, provide instructions to engineering teams, and ensure the successful completion of projects on time and within budget. 
Additionally, the Engineering Manager will research and develop new designs, products, and processes while maintaining technical accuracy and coordinating work with other managers and staff.

Main responsibilities:

Research and develop designs and products to meet customer needs and market demands.
Determine the need for training and talent development within the engineering teams.
Hire contractors and build effective and cohesive engineering teams.
Ensure products have the necessary support and buy-in from upper management.
Provide clear and concise instructions to engineering teams, ensuring alignment with project objectives.
Lead research and development projects that result in innovative designs, products, and processes.
Review and check the technical accuracy of the team’s work, providing guidance and support as needed.
Coordinate work and collaborate closely with other managers and staff to ensure seamless project execution.
Manage and coordinate technical projects, ensuring successful implementation and customer satisfaction.

THE CANDIDATE
+ 5 years’ experience an Engineering leadership position or similar in manufacturing.  
Extrusion experience.
Previous experience as a Test Technician or in a similar role within the engineering field.
Degree level or Higher in relevant technical discipline (Mechanical, Mechatronic, Electronics, Engineering, or alternative.
Familiarity with various testing techniques and methodologies 
Knowledge of quality standards and regulations applicable to the industry.
Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to identify and resolve technical issues.
Analytical mindset with the ability to analyze complex problems and develop effective solutions.
Proven ability to lead a team to achieve stretch goals and objectives
Demonstrated leadership capabilities including people development
Ability to provide positive direction by encouraging peers and direct report team to have a commitment to high standards of quality and performance
Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects successfully
Excellent verbal and writing communication skills in both Spanish and English
