THE COMPANY

Our client is one of the largest manufacturers of interconnect products in the world. The Company designs, manufactures and markets electrical, electronic and fiber optic connectors, coaxial and flat-ribbon cable, copper cables and interconnect systems. The primary end markets for the Company's products are communications and information processing markets, including cable television, cellular telephone and data communication and information processing systems; aerospace and military electronics; and automotive, rail and other transportation and industrial applications.

THE POSITION

Job Summary:  
The primary focus for the Production Manager is to ensure that manufacturing processes run reliably and efficiently. Responsible for the technical management, supervision, and control of HSIO copper cable production processes for 5 production lines with a headcount of 300.  This plant will triple in size. Position reports to Plant Manager.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Ensuring that health and safety regulations are met.
  • Manages 5 production lines to meet KPI’s:  Safety OTD, Productivity, Efficiency, Quality and Cost.
  • Determining and implementing world class quality control mindset and standards.
  • Planning and managing production schedules.
  • Assessing project and resource requirements.
  • Estimating, negotiating, and approval of budgets to achieve company goals.
  • Management of routine maintenance of production equipment
  • Supervising the work of junior staff
  • Management of relevant training sessions

THE CANDIDATE

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, International Trade, or similar.
  • 10 years minimal manufacturing experience in production management or similar (i.e., a combination of Production Manager, Value Stream Manager, Focus Factory Manager, Production Superintendent / Sr Supervisor, or similar).
  • Experience with connectors assembly for copper cables.
  • Prefer management of 250+ workforce.
  • Able to grow to an Operations Manager role within one year.
  • Solid LEAN and continuous improvement experience.
  • Knowledge of production planning, forecasts, budgeting, and P&L understanding.
  • Knowledge and understanding of managing a production environment in compliance with RBA.
  • Fluent in English and Spanish.
  • MS Office and ERP working knowledge.
