Electrical Test Manager

We have been retained by a global leader in high speed and high-density connection systems dedicated to delivering innovative products and services to their customers worldwide. This global leader has sales of nearly $11 billion USD and currently seeks a Senior Test Engineer experienced in Signal Integrity Analysis to join a plant start-up in Mexicali, BC, Mexico to manufacture High Speed Cable Products primarily for e-vehicles, energy storage, and consumer products.

THE POSITION

Senior Test Engineer – Signal Integrity Analysis (Telecommunications Industry), will be reporting to the Engineering Manager. As a Senior Test Engineer specializing in signal integrity analysis for high-speed cables in the telecommunications industry, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the performance and reliability of our products.

Key responsibilities:

• Perform analysis and detection of signal integrity failures in high-speed cables used for telecommunications applications.
• Utilize test equipment, including RD 18 and RD 16 testers, as well as hipot testers, to conduct comprehensive testing and analysis of cable performance.
• Configure high-speed telecommunications cables for data transmission, ensuring optimal signal integrity and performance.
• Conduct capacity analysis of test equipment to ensure efficient utilization and optimal performance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design engineers, product managers, and quality assurance professionals, to identify and resolve signal integrity issues.
• Develop and maintain test procedures, protocols, and documentation to ensure compliance with industry standards and customer requirements.
• Provide technical expertise and support to internal teams and external partners on signal integrity testing and analysis.
• Stay informed of emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices in signal integrity analysis and testing methodologies.

THE CANDIDATE

• The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 4 years of experience as a test engineer, with expertise in analyzing signal integrity failures, utilizing test equipment, and configuring high-speed telecommunications cables for optimal data transmission.
• Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, or related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience as a test engineer, with a focus on signal integrity analysis for high-speed cables in the telecommunications industry.
• Strong understanding of signal integrity principles, transmission line theory, and high-speed data communication protocols.
• Proficiency in using test equipment, including RD 18 and RD 16 testers, as well as hipot testers, for signal integrity testing.
• Experience in configuring high-speed telecommunications cables for data transmission and optimizing signal integrity.
• Ability to conduct capacity analysis of test equipment and understand configuration parameters for high-speed data transmission cables.
• Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Fluent in English
• Must be able to travel to U.S. and China
