Sr. Director – Portfolio Management (REMOTE)

THE POSITION

We are seeking an experienced Sr. Director – Portfolio Manager (Credit) to oversee the management and growth of our client’s international portfolio of financing to farmers. The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of agricultural financing and credit risk management and will be responsible for developing and implementing loan strategies that optimize returns while managing risk in the agriculture sector.  

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement financing strategies that align with our mission of supporting farmers and building a more transparent and sustainable produce supply chain
• Proactively monitor agricultural financing portfolio performance and identify areas for improvement
• Work closely with other departments, including risk management, field ops, customer service, and sales, to ensure that loan strategies meet the company and regulatory requirements
• Manage a team of agricultural financing professionals and provide guidance and leadership to ensure the team is working effectively and efficiently
• Collaborate with the executive team to develop and implement long-term growth plans for the company’s agricultural financing portfolio
• Provide regular reporting on agricultural financing portfolio performance to senior management and external stakeholders
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and developments in agricultural financing, and adapt strategies accordingly
• Build relationships with key players in the agricultural industry and maintain a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing farmers

THE CANDIDATE

• At least 5+ years of experience in loan portfolio management, with a focus on lending and credit risk management
• Deep understanding of the Agricultural sector in Latin America
• Ability to succeed in a hyper growth environment: action driven, resilient, adaptable, and resourceful.
• Bilingual (English / Spanish)
• Strong leadership and management skills, with experience leading teams of loan professionals
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate complex financial concepts to both internal and external stakeholders, including farmers.
• Deep understanding of regulatory requirements and industry best practices in agricultural lending
• Ability to work collaboratively with other departments to achieve company objectives.
• Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, or a related field; advanced degree preferred

LOCATION
Remote/Hybrid. Preferred if based out of CDMX
