Product Manager (Hybrid)

THE COMPANY

Our client is a family of logistics companies that specialize in moving products from their points of origin to their final destination. They are a family ran group and have been since 1938, when their founder started his own Customs Broker in a small town on the California/Mexico Border. Since then, they have grown to service the entire US/Mexico border with over 10 offices from the Pacific to the Gulf of Mexico and expanded to include import/export needs, warehousing, transportation, logistics and freight forwarding; each with an emphasis on products that need to cross the border. Today, they are one of the top leaders in the US/Mexico crossborder community.  

THE JOB

The Product Manager is responsible for the strategy, roadmap, and feature definition of all company Product Development. This role spans many types of activities, from strategic to tactical. The Product Manager provides cross-functional leadership and bridges organizational gaps between the company’s engineering team, general managers, sales and operations.  This role requires someone who is bilingual speaking Spanish and English. The position can be based in either San Diego, CA, Calexico, CA. or El Paso, TX and works in a hybrid role where going into the office for meetings two or three times per week may be required.

• Create product strategy and business requirement for new features or products
• Responsible for product vision and continuous improvement of features and/or products
• Lead and obtain strategic buy-in from internal and external stakeholders
• Communicate key messages and engage with many diverse functional stakeholders through the product lifecycle
• Actively seek customer and market input and data as a source of product innovation
• Identify both business and technical impediments and drive for product development.
• Lead planning of product releases and set expectations for delivery of new features
• Seeks continuous improvement opportunities by analyzing competition

THE CANDIDATE

• Minimum 5 years’ working experience in a Product Owner, Product Manager, Product Development related role preferably in a technology, Software or ERP company.
• Certified Agile or Scrum Product Owner is preferred.
• Proficient experience in using software such as Jira and Confluence.
• Understanding logistics and JDA Warehouse Management Software is a plus.
• Knowledge of ERP (i.e., NetSuite, ARIBA) is a plus.
• Ideal candidate will have good project management skills and have client relations experience.
• Must promote a team environment.
• Bachelor degree in computer science, IT, business or equivalent experience.
• Must be Bilingual (Spanish and English)
