IT Applications Director

THE COMPANY

We have been retained by a world class company who is the leading innovator and global provider of advanced equipment for commercial and industrial markets to find a Director of IT Applications who will lead their next growth phase in Mexico and oversee Information Technology Applications for multiple manufacturing sites and support operations. The Director of IT Applications will be based in San Luis Potosi and report to the Mexico Chief Information Officer.

THE POSITION

The Director of Information Technology, Applications is responsible for developing, reviewing, and supporting software applications for our large multi-site Mexico operations. They design efficient techniques for developing systems, coordinate tasks and manage resources, and determine delivery timelines. They also review applications requests, manage budgets, and conduct quality checks.
Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage a team of application developers, analysts, and administrators to ensure the effective delivery, maintenance, and support of application systems.
• Define, implement, and enforce application development standards, methodologies, and best practices.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their requirements and priorities and translate them into actionable plans for application development and enhancement.
• Oversee the full lifecycle of application development projects, from requirements gathering and design to testing, deployment, and ongoing support.
• Ensure that application systems are secure, reliable, and scalable, and that they comply with relevant regulatory requirements and industry standards.
• Manage relationships with third-party vendors, contractors, and service providers involved in application development and support activities.
• Provide technical guidance and support to the application development team, including coaching, mentoring, and skills development.
• Monitor application performance and reliability, identify areas for improvement, and implement solutions to optimize application functionality and efficiency.
• Prepare and manage the IT applications budget, including forecasting, budgeting, and expense tracking.
• Stay current with emerging technologies and trends in application development and assess their potential impact on the organization’s IT applications strategy.

THE CANDIDATE

• At least 10 years of Information Technology leadership roles with a strong background in support Applications leadership roles in large manufacturing organizations and preferably supporting multi-sites.
• Must have strong support applications process background (i.e. ticketing systems, JIRA, Service Now, Agile Certification, Scrum Master, etc.)
• Must be able to grow to a Senior Director of Information Technology overseeing both infrastructure and Applications.
• SAP (SAP ARIBA) is preferred. ORACLE (i.e. ORACLE NetSuite) a plus.  ERP required.
• Familiarity with Workday is a plus.

• Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish
• Bachelor degree, prefer IT, Computer Science, or similar but open.  MBA desired
