THE JOB

We have been retained by a global leader in discrete manufacturing of low to mid volume and high mix highly engineered products to find their next Plant Manager to lead a large plant turnaround in Queretaro, Mexico.  The Plant Manager oversees plant P&L and provides direction to production with over 700 employees, maintenance, supply chain, quality, process engineering & continuous improvement, and project management.  Due to the confidential nature of this search additional information cannot be provided.

THE CANDIDATE

• Bachelor (University) degree required; Masters degree preferred.
• 6+ years in management in a manufacturing environment with prior experience as a hands-on Plant Manager or Director of Operations for a plant with at least 500+ employees. Prefer electronics / discrete manufacturing. 
• Knowledge of Mexico business practices and basic familiarity with Mexican labor law.
• Must have a strong manufacturing shop floor culture and experience standardizing processes.
• Experience with products/line transfer is preferred.
• Strong Lean applications and continuous improvement in production to drive efficiency continuously. 8+ years experience in LEAN.
• Experience with low volume assembly and high mix preferred and automated processes a plus.
• Solid financial acumen aligned to operational excellence.
• Solid knowledge of supply chain including planning, S&IOP and ERP.
• Experience leading a cultural transformation is highly preferred.
• Experience with customer interfacing preferred. 
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, project management and team-building skills.
• Collaborative leadership style with metrics-oriented performance management and holds others accountable.
• The ideal candidate works well independently, is self-motivated, dynamic, disciplined, analytical,  and assertive with the ability to push back when needed.
• Able to grow at least one level above this role.
• Fluent in English and Spanish.
• Preference will be given to local candidates living in Queretaro or surrounding areas within 1 hour.
