THE POSITION

Job Summary
The Quality Manager will lead the Quality function for the HSIO Cable Assemblies manufacturing operation, ensuring world-class quality performance across high-speed cable assembly processes.
This role is responsible for driving operational excellence through robust quality systems, disciplined problem-solving, and continuous improvement initiatives that enhance product reliability and customer satisfaction.
The Quality Manager will oversee the plant’s Quality Management System, lead internal and external audits, and work closely with manufacturing, engineering, customers, and suppliers to strengthen quality performance across the value chain.
This position plays a critical leadership role in developing the quality engineering organization and fostering a strong culture of accountability, precision, and continuous improvement throughout the facility.

Key Responsibilities

Quality Management System

  • Lead the implementation and continuous improvement of the plant’s Quality Management System in compliance with corporate standards and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure adherence to customer specifications, industry standards, and internal quality policies.
  • Lead and coordinate internal, external, and customer audits while ensuring timely resolution of findings.

Manufacturing Quality

  • Establish and maintain robust quality controls across high-speed cable assembly manufacturing processes.
  • Monitor and improve key operational quality metrics including First Pass Yield (FPY), customer PPM, scrap, and rework.
  • Ensure effective implementation of quality core tools including SPC, Control Plans, and PFMEA.

Problem Solving & Continuous Improvement

  • Lead structured root cause analysis using methodologies such as 8D, 5-Why, and Fishbone analysis.
  • Implement sustainable corrective and preventive actions to eliminate recurring issues.
  • Drive plant-wide continuous improvement initiatives that enhance manufacturing performance and product reliability.

Customer Quality

  • Serve as the primary quality interface with customers, ensuring strong communication and rapid response to quality concerns.
  • Manage customer complaints and corrective action processes.
  • Represent the plant during customer audits, technical reviews, and quality performance discussions.

Supplier Quality

  • Ensure incoming materials and components meet quality and performance standards.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to resolve quality issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Support supplier development and qualification initiatives to strengthen supply chain quality.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead and develop the quality engineering and quality technician teams.
  • Promote a culture of quality, accountability, and operational discipline across the organization.
  • Provide coaching and training to cross-functional teams on quality processes, tools, and best practices.

THE CANDIDATE

Education
Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
Experience

  • 7+ years of quality experience in electronics, cable assembly, or high-reliability manufacturing environments.
  • 3+ years of leadership experience managing quality engineering teams.
  • Technical Expertise
  • Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001; IATF 16949 preferred)
  • Quality Core Tools (APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, MSA, SPC)
  • Manufacturing processes related to electronic products or cable assemblies
  • Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies
