We have been retained by a global leader in high speed and high-density connection systems dedicated to delivering innovative products and services to their customers worldwide. This global leader has sales of nearly $14 billion USD and currently seeks a Test Engineering Manager experienced in Signal Integrity Analysis to join a growing plant in Mexicali, BC, Mexico to design, manufacture and test PCB / Backplanes primarily for datacom / telecommunications products for some of the most advanced and largest companies in the world.

THE POSITION

The Test Engineering Manager will support NPI and production on test equipment, test coverage improvement and yield improvement.  As a Test Engineering Manager specializing in signal integrity analysis and testing for datacom/telecom industry, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the performance and reliability of our products and manage a team of up to 5 test engineers and 8 technicians.  The Test Engineering Manager will be reporting to the Plant Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Set-up test equipment.
  2. Oversee ICT, FCT, 5DXray, Flying probe & Signal Integrity (SI) test equipment.
  3. Support production with test equipment and testing of PCB and backplanes.
  4. Support debug technicians in test failures.
  5. Responsible for making PFMEA, PPAP documents and APQP new product process design and development planning.
  6. Develop test solutions and failure analysis. 
  7. Test method development and drive continuous improvement
  8. Support production online & NPI completion. 
  9. Conduct annual performance review of Team members. 
  10. Monitor and reduce test equipment downtime.
  11. Supervise and lead a team of up to 5 TEST engineers on test side and 8 technicians.
  12. Conduct capacity analysis of test equipment to ensure efficient utilization and optimal performance.
  13. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design engineers, product managers, and quality assurance professionals, to identify and resolve signal integrity issues.
  14. Stay informed of emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices in signal integrity analysis and testing methodologies.
  15. Do other work assigned by supervisor. 

THE CANDIDATE
Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering in Electrical, Electronic, Communications or Signal Integrity.
Will also consider Mechatronic or Robotic Engineering.

Experience and Knowledge:

  1. Experience with PCBA & Backplane (BPA) process.
  2. Must have at least 6 years working experience in test engineering.
  3. Knowledge with ICT, FCT, 5DXray, Flying probe & Signal Integrity (SI) test equipment. Must have stron expertise in Signal Integrity.
  4. Knowledge and understanding of high-speed protocols such as:
  • IEEE
  • OIF (optical internetworking forum)
  • PCIe (PCle is a high-speed serial bus protocol that’s used for transferring data between electronic components)
  • SAS (Serial Attached SCSI (SAS) is a high-speed protocol that offers high data transfer rates and is a common storage area networking (SAN) technology)
5. Familiar with IATF16949 knowledge and five major tools (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, SPC), with internal auditor certificate (highly desired).

6. Strong presentation skills utilizing Microsoft 365 tools.
7. Excellent knowledge of Analog and Digital circuits.
8. High level English language, spoken and written.

9. Familiar with Robat S1, RXI, RCI machine.
10. Customer relations and/or communication are preferred.
