THE COMPANY

Our client is a Fortune 250 global leader in motion and control technologies and systems, generating approximately $19.9 billion in revenue in 2025 and serving customers across a broad range of industrial and technology markets worldwide. The company’s Quick Coupling Division is the largest manufacturer of quick couplings in the world, providing highly engineered solutions that enable fast, reliable connections for fluid and gas transfer applications. Its products play a critical role across industries including agriculture, construction, industrial equipment, and data processing, among others. This is an opportunity to join a highly respected global organization and influence the pricing strategy of a market-leading industrial business.

THE POSITION

Position Summary

We have been retained to identify an accomplished Division Strategic Pricing Manager who will play a key role in shaping and executing the pricing strategy for the Quick Coupling Division. This is much more than a pricing analytics position. The successful candidate will serve as a strategic commercial partner to sales, marketing, finance, engineering, operations, and corporate pricing, using market intelligence, competitive positioning, customer value, cost economics, and advanced analytics to drive stronger pricing decisions and profitable growth.
The Strategic Pricing Manager will develop and optimize pricing strategies across products, customers, distribution channels, new business opportunities, and new product introductions. The position will also lead and develop the Quote Specialists team and help establish greater pricing discipline throughout the organization. This position reports to the Division Marketing Manager and will have significant interaction with division leadership, sales teams, pricing leaders, and the corporate pricing organization.
This is an on-site position based at our client’s Golden Valley, Minnesota office in the Minneapolis–St. Paul metropolitan area. The role requires regular in-person collaboration; therefore, fully remote work is not available, although a hybrid work arrangement is available (typically 4 days in office / 1 day remote).

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and execution of divisional pricing strategies designed to improve profitability, competitiveness, and sustainable growth.
  • Develop sophisticated list-price, quotation, customer, product, and channel pricing analyses to support commercial decision-making.
  • Establish competitive list prices consistent with company pricing practices, market conditions, customer value, and product positioning.
  • Develop pricing and bid strategies for new business opportunities, including appropriate price guidelines, segmentation strategies, floor and ceiling price points, and discount structures.
  • Establish and manage pricing authority, approval processes, and adherence to pricing guidelines across the division.
  • Analyze pricing performance and identify opportunities to reduce unnecessary discounting, improve price realization, and strengthen margins.
  • Lead strategic pricing reviews for significant customer opportunities in partnership with sales, marketing, engineering, finance, and operations.
  • Support new business closing strategies by providing market-based and value-based pricing recommendations.
  • Conduct annual reviews of existing quotations and recommend pricing adjustments as part of the renewal process.
  • Develop and communicate key pricing metrics, including win/loss performance, quote variance, selling-price trends, discount performance, and speed-to-quote.
  • Monitor competitor and distributor pricing practices, industry dynamics, economic conditions, and market trends that could impact divisional pricing.
  • Understand the competitive value proposition of the division’s products relative to competing products, alternative technologies, and internal offerings.
  • Partner with engineering and commercial teams to quantify customer economic value and ROI, translating those insights into compelling value-based pricing strategies.
  • Develop pricing strategies for new products and services, including customer segmentation, value positioning, ROI/payback modeling, and commercial launch support.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and direction to the Quote Specialists team, improving responsiveness, analytical rigor, and overall pricing effectiveness.
  • Serve as an influential change agent, helping strengthen pricing discipline and commercial excellence across sales, supply chain, operations, engineering, and other functional areas.

The essential functions listed above are representative of the type of work performed by employees assigned to this position. The company reserves the right to modify assignments and make reasonable accommodations so qualified employees can perform the essential functions.

THE CANDIDATE

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will combine strong analytical capabilities with commercial judgment, business acumen, and the ability to influence decisions across a complex manufacturing organization.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Marketing, Data Analytics, or a related discipline required; advanced degree or relevant professional certification preferred.
  • Minimum 2–3 years of pricing, strategic pricing, or commercial/product management experience.
  • Demonstrated experience developing pricing models for customers and distribution channels.
  • Experience developing pricing strategies and models for new product introductions.
  • Experience within a manufacturing, industrial, engineered products, or related B2B environment strongly preferred.
  • Solid understanding of financial and cost-accounting principles, including margin, cost structures, profitability, and price realization.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative capabilities with the ability to translate complex data into actionable commercial recommendations.
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Access, and Power BI.
  • Strong negotiation skills, commercial judgment, and understanding of the sales process.
  • Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and listening skills, with the ability to communicate effectively across functions and organizational levels.
  • Strong project-management capabilities and experience working closely with sales and marketing organizations.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence without direct authority and drive change across sales, supply chain, operations, engineering, and other functional teams.
  • Ability to balance analytical rigor with practical business judgment and move effectively from analysis to recommendation and execution.
  • High degree of integrity and discretion, with the ability to protect sensitive customer, competitive, and pricing information.

This is an excellent opportunity for a strategic pricing professional who wants to move beyond analysis and have a meaningful impact on commercial strategy, profitability, and growth within a global market-leading organization.
